About ResilienceHQ

Building a future where communities are not only warned about wildfires,

but are resilient against them.

Our Vision

A future where communities are not only warned about wildfires — but are resilient against them. We envision a world where advanced prediction, real-time monitoring, and resilience planning work together so that wildfires no longer define our vulnerabilities, but highlight our strength to adapt and protect what matters most.

Our Mission

To empower communities, organizations, and decision-makers with the intelligence they need to predict, prepare, and respond to wildfires. We transform data into actionable insights, helping protect lives, assets, and the environment from one of the fastest-growing natural threats.

Our Story

ResilienceHQ began with both a passion and a frustration.

As someone trained in remote sensing, natural hazard modeling and management, I spent years studying how landscapes change, how fire spreads, and how fragile our communities can be in the face of natural disasters. My thesis focused on building models to predict hazards — and while the research showed what was possible, I also saw the gap between academic models and the real tools used on the ground.

Wildfires don’t wait for reports. They move faster than agencies can respond, and the tools we give frontline teams too often leave them reacting instead of preparing. I kept asking myself: what if the models, the data, and the intelligence could move out of the lab and into the hands of people who need them most?

That question became the foundation of Resilience HQ

a platform built on the belief that science and technology can empower communities to anticipate and adapt before disasters

Because every fire contained, every home saved, and every life protected is proof that we can — and must — do better.

Context

Canada’s 2023 wildfires caused $22B in damages — a stark reminder of why better prediction and resilience tools are critical.
